# device forget

This block is part of the [`globals`](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/globals) group and was last modified in core [`v15.0.0`](https://docs.rual.nl/core-versions/150000).

Removes a device from RUAL. It stays paired to the radio and will reappear, unadopted, on its next report.

- flow `v15.0.0` `flow`

- device `v15.0.0` `value` Device id, native address, or exact device name. Leave empty to use the device picked on the block.

- flow `v15.0.0` `flow`

- ok `v15.0.0` `condition`

- error `v15.0.0` `value`

Drops the device from the registry, discarding its name, room and adoption. It does NOT unpair the device from the Zigbee/Z-Wave/Matter network : that is a separate, physically destructive operation deliberately not exposed as a block, because 'stop automating this' and 'evict this from my mesh' are different intentions and conflating them makes the safe one irreversible.

A typical wiring for [device forget](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/globals/homeassist_device_forget): a [function trigger](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/globals/trigger_custom_function) starts the flow; the `flow` out pin feeds [debug](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/state%2520ui/state_debug).
