# get query

This block is part of the [`http connection`](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/http%20connection) group and was last modified in core [`v10.4.28`](https://docs.rual.nl/core-versions/100428).

Returns all query items if present. Query items may be given in the URI like `?query=yes`.

- connection required `httpconnection`

- query `object`

Outputs the query string parameters as an object. When the connection pin is unwired it falls back to the query seeded on the currently running function (simulation); emits nil when there is no query.

A typical wiring for [get query](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/http%2520connection/httpconnection_get_query): [current request](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/http%2520connection/httpconnection_current_request) feeds the `connection` pin; the `query` out pin feeds [get fields](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/object/object_field_getter_multiple).

## Commonly used with

In production blueprints, this block is most often wired together with:

- [current request](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/http%20connection/httpconnection_current_request): feeds into this block. Retrieves a reference to the current HTTP Connection.

- [get fields](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/object/object_field_getter_multiple): this block feeds into it. Gets the selected fields from the given object.

- [custom field](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/object/object_get_custom_field): this block feeds into it. get the value of a custom field with a custom value block, or dynamic value.

- [log](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/logging/function_console_log): this block feeds into it.

- [fields exist](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/object/object_field_exists_multiple): this block feeds into it.

- [create](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/globals/trigger_custom_function): feeds into this block. Creates a new function that can be executed using the given name.
