# open modal

This block is part of the [`state ui`](https://docs.rual.nl/block-types/state%20ui) group and was last modified in core [`v10.4.28`](https://docs.rual.nl/core-versions/100428).

Opens the given modal within the current spark / state page.

- flow `flow`

- data `object` Data to be passed into the modals payload, to be used within the modal

- flow `flow`

In the Go engine this behaves exactly like custom execute: it calls the selected function synchronously and maps its return values back, passing the data pin through like any other input. It does NOT itself open or signal any modal UI.
